Freeze Guard protection

Why do I need automatic freeze guard protection for my pool?

Pool pumps must run at 36 degrees or higher per manufacturers specifications. Automatic freeze guard protection takes care of all this for you. Freeze guards are set at 36 degrees which will turn your main circulating pump on and will not turn your pump off until the temperature rises back above 36 degrees.

If water freezes in your pool pipes it does not allow water flow while the pump motor is running, which will cause the pump motor to burn up. Once the pump motor stops circulating water through the pipes ice can build up and pipes will burst which can result in major costly repairs.
